Following concerns raised by members of the public officers have been carrying out an operation in Seaforth and Litherland, targeting anti-social behaviour and drug dealing in local parks.
Officers from Sefton’s Targeted Team joined forces with colleagues from Matrix Disruption and Roads Policing to target those using electric bikes to commit drug supply offences and anti-social behaviour in and around parks in the Seaforth and Litherland areas.
Officers in plain clothes and uniform carried out activity in areas around Hapsford Park and Seaforth Nature Trail (Froggy Meadow).
As a result of the activity officers conducted 12 stop searches. Action was also taken in relation to a number of individuals:
Sefton Targeted Policing Inspector Jordan Quinn said: “We pro-actively carry out stop searches, warrants, disruptions and arrests all year round, and in many instances it is thanks to the public who tell us where there are issues in the community.
“Members of the community raised concerns to us about anti-social behaviour and drug dealing in these areas and it has enabled us to carry out this work. I would urge people to continue to come forward with information either by contacting us or the Crimestoppers line anonymously, so we can take positive action to improve the lives of people in our communities.”
If you have any information on the possession of, storage or use of drugs and weapons in your community, please contact our social media desk on Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’.
