Two men arrested and suspected Class A and B drugs seized after warrant carried out in Liverpool

We have arrested two men and seized a large quantity of Class A and B drugs after carrying out a warrant in Liverpool.
Officers searched a premises on Penny Lane on Wednesday 7 February and found numerous bags of suspected cannabis, wraps of white and brown powder suspected to be cocaine and heroin, as well as a quantity of pink pills suspected to be ecstasy. A machete was also found at the address.
Officers were also able to arrest two people at the scene – one of whom had initially tried to escape by fleeing onto the roof, but he eventually came down safely and was taken into custody.
A 52-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin, cocaine and MDMA) and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis and amphetamine). He has been released under investigation.
A 23-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis, possession of a knife, blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine and MDMA). He has been given conditional bail pending further enquiries.
Inspector Stuart McLoughlin said: “Thanks to a warrant carried out by officers, we have not only been able to seize a large quantity of suspected Class A and B drugs, but also arrest two suspects at the scene.
“Our officers also recovered a weapon, which can now no longer be used to cause fear and harm in our communities.
“We are relentless in pursuing those involved in drug dealing and serious and organised criminality across Merseyside.
“If you have any concerns about drugs in your community, please come forward, either directly or anonymously and we will take action to make our streets safer.”
