Two people have been arrested following a report of an assault in Prescot yesterday evening, Thursday 1 February.
At around 8.40pm it was reported that a man was found in the street with injuries on Kingsway.
The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained an injury to his head and leg and was taken to hospital. He remains in a stable condition.
A 49-year-old man from Prescot has been arrested on suspicion of wounding, and a 39-year-old woman from Prescot was also arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault - grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a controlled Class A drug, crack cocaine. They are still in police custody to be questioned.
