Three people arrested and large quantity of cannabis seized in Rock Ferry

We have arrested three people and seized a large quantity of cannabis, an illegally adapted electric bike and suspected stolen items following a warrant carried out at an address in Rock Ferry.

Officers carried out the warrant on Grove Road yesterday, Tuesday 19 March, as part of Operation Remove, which is aimed at disrupting criminality and protecting those living in the Wirral area.

During a search of the property, a large quantity of suspected cannabis was found in both snap bags and larger clear bags. Also seized were clothing with security tags still attached, an illegally adapted electric bike, cash, scales and a small quantity of heroin.

Two men, aged 22 and 56, and a 51-year-old woman, all from Rock Ferry, have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled Class B drug (cannabis) and theft. The 56-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled Class A drug (heroin). All three have been released under investigation.

Inspector Mark Kennedy said: “Thanks to a warrant carried out by officers yesterday, we have not only been able to seize a large quantity of suspected cannabis, but also arrest three people.

“We are relentless in pursuing those involved in drug dealing and serious and organised crime in Wirral and also across Merseyside.

"Sadly we know the harm that drug dealing can have in our communities. Those involved in such criminality only care about themselves and will exploit vulnerable people in order to make money.

“If you have any concerns about drugs in your community, please come forward, either directly or anonymously and we will take action to make our streets safer.”
