We can confirm emergency services are currently in Tranmere after the body of a woman was found inside a property.
Emergency services were called just after 11pm yesterday, Thursday 14 March, and when officers entered they found a 40-year-old woman unconscious at a house on Harrowby Road.
Officers administered CPR until paramedics arrived who pronounced her dead at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the woman and notify her next-of-kin.
Three people from Wirral have been arrested: a 47-year-old man and two women aged 45-year-old, on suspicion of murder and they remain in police custody.
The investigation is in its very early stages and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
A post-mortem examination will take place to establish her cause of death.
A scene is in place on Harrowby Road this morning as part of the ongoing investigation and officers will be carrying out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.
Detective Inspector Peter Rexwinkel said: “An investigation is underway with officers carrying out enquires in the area to establish exactly what happened.
“While we have already made three arrests, our specialist officers remain at the scene as we carry out forensic examinations and review any CCTV footage in the area.
“If you live on Harrowby Road and have any doorbell or CCTV footage from around 10pm yesterday that may have captured what happened or heard anything suspicious, then please get in touch with us so we can continue our enquiries.”
