We are appealing for information following a suspected firearms incident in Wirral on Saturday, 11th May.
At around 5.05pm, a report was received of two men on an electric bike being sighted in Holt Road, Tranmere. It is believed one of the men was in possession of a firearm, described as having the appearance of a pistol.
The firearm was not fired and extensive enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved.
One of the males was dressed all in black and the second was wearing a grey and black Montirex tracksuit top. Both were wearing grey gloves and had distinctive face coverings that completely hid their faces.
Detective Inspector Andrew Schofield said: “Although thankfully rare, we understand the fear that such incidents cause within our communities. We would be keen to hear from anyone who saw this incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at around 5.05pm on Saturday.
“Likewise, if you live locally or were passing in the area, please check your dashcam, CCTV or home doorbell devices and let us know directly, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
“Our officers will be in the area in the coming days to provide a visible presence, and we will take action on all information provided.”
You can provide information via @MerpolCC, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with reference 24000430172.
