We have issued images of a man who could have information following a reported assault and indecent exposure outside a pub in Thornton.
At around 7.30pm on Sunday 10 March, it was reported that a man exposed himself to a woman outside The Nags Head, on Green Lane, and punched her to the face.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the woman, aged in her 50s, needed hospital treatment to facial injuries.
Since the incident, we have carried out extensive inquiries and are now in a position to release CCTV images of a man who we believe could have information.
Detective Constable Adam Smith said: “This was a nasty assault that was completely unprovoked and left the victim in hospital.
“For a man to expose himself to a woman and then assault her is totally unacceptable and won’t be tolerated.
“I am appealing to the man featured in the images, or anyone who recognises him to come forward. We believe he could hold information to help our continuing enquiries.”
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 24000263364.
