We are today, Monday 13th May, continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward following a shooting in Liverpool last Thursday, 9th May.
A report was received just before 9.40pm that a 39-year-old man had been shot in the leg outside the Go Local shop on Scotland Road.
It is believed the male gunman, who was dressed in black clothing, arrived on foot from the direction of Silvester Street and made off on foot in the direction of Woodstock Street.
We believe the attack was targeted and the victim remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Detective Inspector John Mullen said: “We know that there were a number of people in the vicinity of the Go Local shop on Thursday night, including some who came to the victim’s aid after he had been shot.
“We still need to speak to those people to establish what they saw or know and I would urge them to contact us either directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
“People who carry and use guns don’t deserve to be walking our streets and the support of the public, together with key witness information, is vital to allow us to bring the person responsible to justice.
If you witnessed or have information about this incident, please DM our social media desk on Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ with reference 24000425076.
