We have arrested a man following a road traffic collision in St Helens yesterday evening Friday, 3 May.
At around 10.30pm it was reported that a BMW X4 car was in collision with several parked cars and then a Ford Focus taxi at the junction of Reginald Road and Helena Road.
Emergency services attended, and four people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A 27-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit and driving whilst unfit through drink. He is still in police custody to be questioned.
Helena Road was closed at the time of the incident and has now reopened to motorists.
We are appealing for witnesses, and for any CCTV and dash camera footage which may have captured the incident, to please get in touch to assist the investigation.
