Detectives have arrested a third person in connection with the attempted murder of a girl in Fairfield on Sunday 28 April.
At around 9pm, a report was received of a girl being assaulted by a weapon outside Londos shop on Prescot Road. The victim, aged 16, sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital. She is recovering following treatment in hospital.
A 15-year-old boy from Anfield was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday, Wednesday 1 May. He has been conditionally bailed as enquiries continue.
A 19-year-old man from Old Swan and a 14-year-old boy from Kensington were previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Both have been conditionally bailed.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Roberts said: "Extensive enquiries continue into this serious incident, and despite three arrests being made, we are still keen to hear from anyone who saw or knows anything which may assist.
"Any detail, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could be vital to this investigation."
