Detectives have arrested two men following a serious assault in Croxteth last month.
At around 5.45pm on Wednesday, 10 April, emergency services were called to Altcross Road to reports of a road traffic incident involving an off-road motorbike and a pedal-assisted electric bike.
The rider of the electric bike sustained head and facial injuries and was taken to hospital.
Following enquiries, an 18-year-old man of no fixed abode was yesterday arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent. He has been conditionally bailed to a later date pending further enquiries.
A 27-year-old man from Croxteth was last week arrested on suspicion of Assisting an offender. He remains on conditional bail.
Detective Inspector Michael Fletcher said: "Two arrests have now been made in connection with this serious incident, but we are still appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward.
"The victim is continuing to recover from serious injuries and we will continue to support him as this investigation continues.
"If you saw this incident or were passing by and captured anything on dashcam, please contact us via @MerPolCC, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously, with reference 24000329650."
