Detectives have charged two men as part of an ongoing investigation into firearms offences in Wirral.
At around 10.30pm on Tuesday 26 March, officers were called to New Chester Road in New Ferry to reports of shots being fired at 10.05pm. There were no reports of any injuries or damage caused in the area after officers carried out CCTV, house-to-house and witness enquiries.
At around 5.05pm on Saturday 11 May, a report was received of two men on an electric bike being sighted in Holt Road, Tranmere. It is believed one of the men was in possession of a firearm, described as having the appearance of a pistol.
Kai Buckney, 19, of Cecil Road, New Ferry, and Obakeng Sithole, 19, of St David Road, Eastham, were both charged with the following five offences:
Possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and Possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life, in relation to the New Ferry shooting.
Possession of a firearm with intent to cause a person to believe that unlawful violence will be used against them, in relation to the Tranmere incident.
Possession of a Prohibited weapon and Possession of ammunition without a certificate, in relation to a firearm seized in Heswall yesterday, Thursday 16 May.
Both men are remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Remand Court this afternoon, Friday 17 May.
