We are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a car in Wavertree on Saturday 9 November.
Just after 6.30pm we received a report of a collision involving a white Vauxhall Astra and a pedestrian on Church Road North, near to the junction of Childwall Road.
The pedestrian, a man in his eighties, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting with the police investigation.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson, Lead Investigating Officer from the MATRIX Serious Collision Investigation Unit said : “Our thoughts are with the injured man and his family as they await an update on his condition. They are being supported by a specially trained officer.
"We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this collision and would appeal to anyone who was in the area on Saturday evening who may have witnessed this collision, or who saw the white 62 plate Vauxhall Astra in the moments leading up to the incident to please get in touch.
"Additionally, I would ask drivers and property owners to review their dash camera, CCTV or doorbell footage which may have captured the incident to please contact us."
