Appeal following unprovoked assault in Liverpool gym

We have issued an image of a man we would like to trace following an unprovoked assault in a gym in Liverpool.

At around 8pm on Monday 7 October officers attended at Tuebrook community centre health and fitness gym on Marlborough Road to reports a man in his 40s had been assaulted by another man.

The injured man suffered lacerations to his face, lost teeth and swelling to his head and cheekbone.

We have issued an image of man we would like to speak to as we believe he could have information which could assist our investigation.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked attack in which the victim was struck on the head from behind. When he fell to the floor he was then kicked several times in the face.

“An investigation is underway and witness enquiries have been carried out.

“We have also issued an image of a man we would like to speak to as we believe he could assist our enquiries.

“I would ask anyone who recognises the man or has any information which could assist the investigation to contact us.”
