A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife blade in a public place.
Matrix officers were called to Berkley Street in Toxteth at around 11pm last night, Thursday 31 October, following reports of a male in possession of a knife. There is no suggestion the knife was used.
Following a search of the area a male was detained and searched.
Officers recovered a large machete, together with bags containing brown and white power.
The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife blade in a public place and two counts of possession of a controlled drug Class A (crack cocaine and heroin).
He is currently in custody.
