Two men have been arrested and drugs and swords seized after officers smelled cannabis in Dovecot on Wednesday 20 November.
Officers were on plain clothes patrol in the area, which forms part of EVOLVE Liverpool-Knowsley, one of Merseyside’s Clear, Hold, Build operations.
They attended the flat on an unrelated matter when they immediately smelled the drug after the front door was opened.
Two suspects were detained inside and following a search of two adjacent flats, four swords were recovered along with eight cannabis plants, cropped cannabis, white powder and paraphernalia related to drugs production.

A 42-year-old man from Dovecot was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of a Class B controlled drug (cannabis), cultivating cannabis and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
Both men have been released under investigations as enquiries continue.
Superintendent Tony Fairhurst said: “Drugs and those who are involved in drug-related activity bring misery to our communities.
“They often use violence and intimidation to enforce their illicit trade, and we welcome the fact that the actions of officers in this case has led to dangerous weapons being taken out of circulation.
“Our officers are dedicated to taking drug dealers off our streets and making a difference to the lives of people who live in areas where drug-related activity is taking place.
“Crime is falling in our EVOLVE neighbourhoods and pride is increasing. Together with our partners, we are committed to continuing to make these areas safer for generations to come.
“We want people to love to live, work and visit these areas and we are confident we are on the right course to achieve that.
“We urge anyone with any information about drug-related activity, or any other crime, to contact us so we can take action to put criminals behind bars and get help for those with drug and alcohol addictions – if you want to live in a place free from serious crime, silence is not an option.”
