We have arrested a man following an assault in Leasowe in the early hours of Sunday morning, 17 November.
At around 1.10am, officers were called to Leasowe Golf Club on Leasowe Road to reports of two men being assaulted. Two men in their 60s sustained injuries, one of which was a serious facial injury.
Following enquiries, a 45-year-old man from Meols was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault with intent and Section 39 assault.
He has been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “This incident will have undoubtedly been shocking to see and we are keen to speak to any witnesses who have yet to come forward.
“One of the victims suffered a life-changing injury and I am sure that anyone who was at the event will share our disgust and our determination in fully investigating what happened. If you saw or captured on any devices the incident itself or anything suspicious prior, let us know.
“A man is now under investigation but enquiries continue, so tell us what you know and we will take action.”
