We are appealing for information following a serious collision in Seacombe this morning, Tuesday 29 October.
Just before 7.35am, emergency services were called to the roundabout at Tower Road and Birkenhead Road to reports of a collision involving a HGV truck and a cyclist.
Emergency services are currently dealing with the incident and the cyclist, a man, is currently being treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the HGV stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
Road closures are in place around Tower Road, Birkenhead Road, Dock Road and Duke Street while emergency services attend the incident. We ask that drivers avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident.
We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
Chief Inspector Phil Thompson said: “We have now launched an investigation into the collision and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV and dashcam footage to please contact us.
“Every piece information is vitally important to our investigation to establish what happened.”
Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on CCTV or dashcam is asked to contact SCIU on (0151) 777 5747, or email [email protected] quoting log 123 of 29 October.
