CCTV appeal following serious assault in Liverpool city centre

We have released a CCTV image of a man who could have information about a serious assault in Liverpool city centre.

At around 11.45pm on Monday 28 October, it was reported that a man aged in his 20s had been headbutted and punched by another male inside Shenanigans, on Tithebarn Street.

The victim self-presented at hospital with a severe concussion that affected his ability to move parts of his body. He has been discharged from hospital but still has mobility issues.

We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and if you recognise the man pictured, please get in touch.

Although the CCTV image is dark, we hope that people who know this man will recognise him from the picture, particularly as he was wearing what appears to be a distinctive T-shirt.

Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher said: “This was a nasty assault that left a man with a serious head injury that required lengthy hospital treatment.

“We are determined to find the person responsible and inquiries are ongoing into the incident.

“There were other people in the pub at the time of the incident, so if you saw what happened or have any information, please come forward.

“As part of the investigation, we are also releasing a CCTV image of a man who we believe could have information about the incident.

“If you recognise him and know who he is, please let us know as soon as possible.”
