We have arrested a man on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and drink driving.
At around 1.15am yesterday, Wednesday 30 October, officers were on uniformed mobile patrol in an unmarked police vehicle when they spotted a Vauxhall Grandland travelling along Broad Lane in Norris Green.
The officers followed the car and attempted to stop it by using the emergency equipment on their vehicle and indicating for it to pull over. The car was then seen to drive off through a red light.
Officers followed the car which was seen being driven at speed, clipping kerbs and contravening red lights.
A stop stick was used to stop the vehicle on Lisburn Lane.
The driver, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, drink driving, theft of a motor vehicle and using a vehicle without third party insurance.
The man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
