We have arrested a man and seized cannabis plants, cash, and suspected equipment for the production of cannabis oil/butter.
Yesterday, Wednesday 23 October, officers attended an address in Bull Lane, Orrell Park to locate a man wanted in connection with domestic offences.
A man was detained at the address. Following a search of the premises, cannabis plants, around £60,000 in cash, and further cannabis, oil and butter were seized from a fridge and freezer.
A 41-year-old man from Orrell Park was arrested on suspicion of Cannabis cultivation; Possession with intent to supply cannabis; Possession of criminal property; Production of cannabis; Harassment; and two counts of Criminal Damage. He remains in custody for questioning.
Sefton Targeted Policing Inspector Michelle Devereaux said: “The man was wanted in connection with unrelated domestic offences, but in addition the seizure of such an array of drugs, cash and drug production equipment means that a great deal of harm to the community has been prevented.
“Drug supply and cannabis production attracts serious violent crime, as well as the risk of fire and flood, and no law-abiding person wants to live close to such a premises. If you provide information to police or anonymously via Crimestoppers, we will do the rest.”
