Detectives investigating Violent Disorder in Merseyside have arrested a 130th person.
The 33-year-old man from Wigan was arrested on suspicion of Violent Disorder in Southport. He has been conditionally bailed pending further inquiries.
This arrest brings the total of arrests made so far to 130. 92 people have been charged, and 70 people put before the courts – bringing a total of 151 years 10 months sentencing.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Roberts is leading the investigation. He said: “Our investigation into the incidents in Merseyside continues with more arrests, charges and sentences being progressed on a daily basis.
“We continue to identify more people who attended the disorder in Merseyside and we will not stop until we’ve put everyone we possibly can before the courts.”
