Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man who could have information that may assist with their enquiries following an alleged racially aggravated incident in a Wavertree shop.
On Tuesday 3 September a man entered a mobile shop on Picton Road and following a disagreement he became aggressive and made racist remarks to the shop assistant.
He then left the shop and when the assistant followed him he brandished a knife. No injuries were sustained.
The offender then rode off on a black electric pedal bike.
Detective Inspector James Halpin said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim, who should not feel intimidated or threatened in this manner while trying to earn an honest living. We will thoroughly investigate reports of those targeted through hate crime.”
CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible, and detectives have issued images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Halpin added: “Our continued enquires have led to this CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with our investigation.
“I am appealing to the man featured in this image, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
