We have arrested a man following reports a suspect exposed himself to children in Huyton on Sunday night (22 September).
It was reported the man had exposed himself to three children aged between 10-11 at around 3.30pm, close to Kelly’s Discount Booze on Liverpool Road.
The children ran into the shop in fear the incident was reported by a parent later that day.
A 55-year-old man from Halewood has been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure. He has been taken into custody to be interviewed.
Neighbourhood Inspector Jen Murray said: "I would like to reassure the local community that we take incidents of this nature extremely seriously.
“This would have been a really upsetting incident for the children involved, who have been left shocked and distressed by the experience.
“Officers have acted swiftly to make an arrest and our investigation is progressing well.”
