We can confirm that a 43-year-old woman has suffered serious head injuries after falling of an electric scooter in Liverpool city centre tonight (Saturday, 21 September).
The woman was seen to fall off the scooter as she was riding along Princes Parade at about 6.30pm. She has been taken to hospital where her condition is described as critical.
At this stage no other party is believed to have been involved and the Roads Policing Unit are carrying out an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or any motorists who may have dashcam footage to contact us.
