We have arrested a man and a woman following an incident in Bootle yesterday, Sunday 15 September.
At around 1.30pm, officers were called to reports of a domestic incident at a premises on Stanley Road. During enquiries, a firearm was found, which is initially believed to be a blank-firing handgun.
A 32-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of Section 39 and Section 47 assault; Possession of a firearm without a certificate; and False imprisonment.
A 28-year-old woman from Bootle was arrested on suspicion of Possession of a firearm without a certificate; and Possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
Both remain in custody for questioning.
