We have today, Friday 30 August, issued CCTV images of three males we want to trace following a stabbing in Liverpool city centre.
Officers were contacted at 8.55pm on Thursday 22 August and found a 21-year-old man on Church Street with multiple stab wounds to the back.
It’s believed that the victim was involved in an altercation with around seven young males before the incident occurred.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital. He has since been released.
Following enquiries, a 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “We are continuing to appeal for anyone who was in Church Street on the evening of Thursday 22 August and has information to come forward.
“We have issued images of three males who we believe could assist with our enquiries and would ask anyone who recognises them to contact us we believe they could assist our investigation.
“We are also asking for anyone who recorded the incident on their mobile phone to share the footage with us so we can continue to make progress with our enquiries.
“Knife crime has no place on the streets of Merseyside and we will continue to do everything in our powers to combat it, bring offenders to justice and remove weapons from our streets, so please come forward and tell us what you know.”
