We can confirm that there was a road traffic collision involving a police vehicle in Belle Vale this morning, Thursday 3 April.
At around 8.30am, we received a report of a collision at the junction of Belle Vale Road and Lee Vale Road involving a grey Dacia car, a red Renault Clio and a marked police car which was responding to an emergency incident.
The driver of the Dacia and the police officer sustained minor injuries and were checked over at the scene. The Dacia driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A road closure was initially put in place, but this has now been reopened.
An investigation into the collision is being carried out, and we are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or who has dashcam footage, to contact police as soon as possible.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on CCTV or dashcam is asked to contact police via @MerPolCC on Twitter (X) or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook, with log 197 of 3 April.
