We are appealing for possible witnesses to come forward following a reported robbery in Birkenhead.
At some point between 6.30pm-7pm on Friday 17 January, it was reported that a man aged in his 50s had been pushed off his wheelchair on Canning Street by three men.
The suspects, who have been described as white and around the ages of 18-20, have then made off with the wheelchair in the direction of Argyle Street.
The victim was physically unharmed but left distressed by the incident.
The robbery occurred on a road that is typically busy with traffic and we are hoping that someone could have witnessed the incident while driving past.
Detective Constable Steve Williams said: “This was an appalling incident that has left a disabled man extremely distressed.
“Since the robbery occurred, we have been carrying out enquiries to try and identify the three males involved.
“We believe the incident could have been witnessed by motorists who would have been travelling past at the time.
“If you remember travelling through the area and saw something, please come forward. If you have dashcam footage can you also check to see if you captured anything that could assist our ongoing investigation. Any information, no matter how small you think it is, could prove to be significant.”
