We have released two images of a man who could have information following an assault in Leasowe.
At around 6.30am on Sunday 5 January, it was reported that a taxi driver had been assaulted by one of his passengers after picking up a group of four people at Victoria Street, in Liverpool city centre.
As they travelled towards Wirral, the male passenger became abuse and as they reached Reeds Lane, in Leasowe, he assaulted the taxi driver, who is a man aged in his 40s.
The group of four passengers then left the area on foot and police were called to the scene.
The taxi driver was not seriously injured but was left distressed by the incident.
Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “We believe the man pictured in these images could have information to assist our ongoing enquiries.
“If you recognise yourself in these images, or you know who this is, please come forward to help our investigation.
“To assault a taxi driver, who was just trying to do his job, is completely unacceptable and we are determined to find the person responsible.”
