We continue to appeal for information following a serious collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Liverpool city centre last night, Thursday 13 February.
A report was received at 7.28pm of a collision between a Range Rover and a pedestrian at the junction of Islington and Moss Street, close to the BP Garage.
The male pedestrian, aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is currently in a critical condition.
The driver stopped at the scene to assist with enquiries.
Lead Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Andy Roper from our MATRIX Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are still in the early stages of investigating this collision and would urge anyone with any information to please come forward.
“Sadly, the male pedestrian is currently in hospital in a critical condition and we are determined to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“I would urge anyone who saw this incident, or was passing by at the time and may have inadvertently captured what happened on a dashcam, to come forward as soon as possible.
"Our team will provide links to enable any footage to be uploaded and this can then be reviewed. A small detail could be vital in assisting our investigation and could help us to provide answers as to how this collision has occurred."
Anyone who witnessed the incident or was passing by and potentially captured anything on dashcam or other devices is asked to contact the SCIU on (0151) 777 5747, email [email protected], or DM @MerPolCC with reference 25000121527.
