The family of a man who died following a collision in St Helens have issued a tribute.
We were contacted at just before 11.30am on Wednesday 5 February to reports a motorbike had been in collision with a Vauxhall Meriva on Fleet Lane, on Fleet Lane industrial estate.
The motorcyclist – 45-year-old Lee Wilson from St Helens - suffered serious injuries and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
His family have issued the below tributes:
From his children
My dad was the most courageous and bravest man I ever encountered.
He knew how to lift the room up and he certainly knew how to put a smile on my face.
My dad was my go-to after me losing my mum just over a year ago.
He was my rock he helped me get through the grief and the pain and he showed me what it was to have a protector and he loved each and every one of his children.
My dad loved his bikes no matter if it was him riding them or taking two different bikes apart to sit there and rebuild them. He was a bike lover and none of us could change his mind on that. We have had lots and lots of memories with my dad, things that will always remain in my head and my heart for the rest of my life. I love you dad and I’ll never forget you.
From his sister
Lee was not only my little brother he was also my best friend.
We lived next door to each other for over 13 years and were together every day in and out of each others house
We seen each other through some hard times. We told each other daily 'love you my sis, love you bro'.
No words can describe the heartache us a family are feeling.
Lee was very loved now and always.. goodnight brother until we meet again your loving sis Dawn xx
Rest of the family
Lee was a loving son, brother and uncle with a heart as big as him. He was loved dearly by all who knew him; he could be larger than life and was always up for a laugh, his laugh was infectious.
He had his troubles in life but met every one of them with strength and a determination to overcome them.
He was loved by the whole family. He was always someone we could call at anytime and without failure he would be there to help.
His loss has devastated us, we are all still in shock; life can be turned upside down in an instant.
