We have arrested four people and seized a large quantity of drugs, a stolen scrambler bike and a high-powered electric bike following an incident in Walton.
At around 1am this morning, Tuesday 4 March, officers on patrol on Trevelyan Street stopped a male who they believed had just been involved in a drugs deal.
He was in possession of cannabis and following a search of an address linked to the male, a large quantity of cash, scales, mobile phones and a suspected stolen e-bike were found.
Three other people at the address were also arrested and further searches of properties linked to them led to the discovery of further wraps of drugs, cash and a suspected stolen scrambler bike.
The following people were arrested:
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “Thanks to the observations and quick thinking of our officers, they were able identify a male suspected as being involved in a drugs deal and this led to further arrests and the seizure of not only more drugs but also a stolen scrambler and e-bike.
“Those who participate in the supply of drugs at any stage are helping to sustain an illicit trade that relies on violence and intimidation.
“We have also seized a scrambler and e-bike. The risk of bikes being ridden anti-socially and dangerously can be devastating, and our Roads Policing Unit work hard alongside Local Policing teams to proactively stop people from taking their own safety and that of others into their own hands.
"We proactively respond to all intelligence about stolen vehicles, and I encourage anyone with information to let us know so we can take positive action.
"Each and every seizure like this one prevents further risk on the roads. If you have any information about suspected stolen or illegally owned/ridden scrambler bikes or illegal electric motorcycles, please contact us via @MerPolCC, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always call 999 if a crime is in progress, when it is safe to do so."
