We can confirm that a man has been arrested and charged in connection to a robbery and attempted robberies at shops in Tuebrook.
Bryan McLauchlan, 38, of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery following an incident at a store on Lisburn Lane on Sunday 16 February.
He has also been charged with three counts of attempted robbery at stores on Finvoy Road, Craigs Road and Glamis Road, which all occurred the following day, Monday 17 February.
He appeared at Liverpool Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Monday 24 February, and has been remanded to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 24 March.
Detective Inspector Steve Street said: “We take reports of business robberies extremely seriously because we know the impact it can have on staff and the local community.
“To target a local shop in such a way is completely unacceptable and when incidents like this occur we will do everything in our power to find the people responsible and bring them to justice.
"Robbery within retail premises is not a victimless crime and has a huge impact on not only the business but the community as well.”
