We can confirm that a man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Edge Hill on Monday 17 February.
At around 7am, we received a report that a man aged in his 60s had been stabbed inside a property on Wavertree Road. He is currently in hospital in a stable condition.
During the same incident, a man and woman, both aged in their 30s, were assaulted and they sustained minor injuries.
Gerry Anketell, 37, of no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted murder, assault by beating and common assault.
He appeared at South Sefton Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Tuesday 18 February, and has been remanded in custody to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 18 March.
