Three people have been arrested following a reported two aggravated burglary in Garston.
It was reported that just after 10.30pm on Wednesday 5 February, and then 9.45pm on Thursday 6 February a house on Windfield Green was broken into which was believed to have been a targeted burglary.
The occupant was not present on both occasions and nothing was reported stolen, however two dog were injured during the incident on Thursday.
Police attended and following an investigation arrested three people today, Friday 7 February.
A 42-year-old man from Garston was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and cause unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
A 20-year-old man from Garston was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated burglary, causing unnecessary suffering to an animal and possession of an offensive weapon.
A 16-year-old male from Allerton on suspicion of aggravated burglary and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
Inspector Neighbourhood Policing Steve Reilly said: “We have a high-visibility police presence in the area to reassure the local community and officers have been engaging with locals residents.
“Such violence committed to the defenceless dogs will not be tolerated, and it is understandable that this will have shocked the community.
“Three people have been arrested however if anyone has information that will assist in the investigation then please contact us.
“Patrols will continue over the weekend to reassure our residents so if you have any information on any offences in the area please speak with our officers.”
