Wirral Detectives are appealing for information after a robbery in Birkenhead yesterday afternoon, Thursday 13 February.
At 4.05pm, officers were called to Gautby Road to reports of a woman riding a blue Honda moped, who was approached by three males, one of whom kicked her and told her to get off the bike. The victim was then pushed, causing her to fall into the road. The males made off in the direction of Hoylake Road with the moped.
Following enquiries, the moped was found today on Bidston Hill and has been forensically recovered. CCTV, house-to-house and witness enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Constable Amy Patton said: "This was an appalling incident in which the victim was left distressed and sustained bruising to her body. We are supporting her as enquiries continue.
"The offence took place on a busy road at a time of day where people will have been leaving school, college or work. We're sure that someone passing by will have witnessed the incident or potentially captured something of note on CCTV, dashcam or doorbell devices.
"If you saw three males in the area, around 18-20 years old, please come forward. We think two rode off on the stolen moped, and the third may have been on a pedal cycle. The smallest piece of information may be vital in finding those responsible and putting them before the courts."
