We are appealing for information following a break-in of a church in St Helens on Friday 24 January.
It was reported that a St Mary’s Lowe House Church on North Road was broken into overnight and caused damage to the door.
No one was injured during the incident.
An investigation is now underway including forensic examination and obtaining CCTV and doorbell footage.
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Josh Griffiths said: “I would urge people who saw someone acting suspiciously on North Road to please contact us.
“I would also ask people who were in the area to check their dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage to see if they may have captured something which may be vital to the investigation.”
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact us @MerPolCC on Twitter, ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook or ring 101 with log 25000060375.
You can also contact Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111. You can also report any concerns to police on 999 if a crime is in progress.
We have a dedicated burglary team called Operation Castle, who focus on hotspot areas and particular types of burglary.
A dedicated portal where people can send CCTV, smart doorbell or dashcam footage of suspicious activity in your area but don’t know if it is linked to a specific offence. It can be uploaded here: https://unitedkingdom1cpp-portal.digital-policing.co.uk/merseyside/appeal/castle
Your footage will be reviewed for potential links to reported offences in your area and may help us gather evidence to solve burglaries and bring offenders to justice.
