We are appealing for witnesses after a man sadly died following a collision in St Helens on Boxing Day last month.
At around 2.40pm on Thursday 26 December, it was reported that a blue Mini and a grey Ford Fiesta were involved in a collision on Burrows Lane, in Eccleston, near to Mere View.
Emergency services attended the scene and a 78-year-old man from Prescot, who was the driver of the Mini, was taken to hospital. He sadly died last week from his injuries.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson, the Lead Investigating Officer, from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has sadly died following the collision and they will be supported by a specially trained officer.
“An investigation was launched following the collision and this is ongoing. Our aim is to get answers for the family and establish the circumstances of what happened.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision or the build up to it, to please get in touch”.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Merseyside Police's Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit on (0151) 777 5747, email [email protected], or DM @MerPolCC with reference 24001081271.
