We are appealing for information following a serious collision in Huyton this morning, Thursday 16 January.
At around 4.40am, emergency services were called to the junction of Liverpool Road and Hillside Road to reports of a collision involving a Mazda and a female pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries. The car stopped at the scene.
A road closure is in place in both directions on Liverpool Road from junction 2 of the M57 to Blue Bell Lane. Please avoid the area.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson said: "As a matter of urgency, we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or was passing by at the time and may have captured anything on dashcam or other devices.
“Road closures will remain in place for a significant time as officers carry out the initial stages of this investigation. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route. Thank you for your patience."
