Appeal for witnesses following collision involving pedestrian and car

We are appealing for information following a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in Edge Hill this morning, Thursday 30 January.
At around 8.05am it was reported that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a Silver Vauxhall Corsa on Tunnel Road, near Edge Hill Train Station.
The female pedestrian has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
A 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above the limit.
Tunnel Road is currently closed while emergency services dealt with the incident. We ask motorists to please avoid the area and find an alternative route. Thank you for your patience.
We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
