We have arrested a man on suspicion of drug supply offences and seized cash after a van was searched in Walton yesterday morning (Wednesday 8 January).
Officers on patrol in the area at around 1am spotted a man driving a white van on Walton Lane which was brought to a stop on Queens Drive.
When the vehicle was stopped officers noticed drug paraphernalia scattered around the vehicle. Following a search of the van officers saw an opening above the wheel arch containing a carrier bag.
The bag contained 34 bags of suspected Class A drugs, £215 cash and two black iPhones.
A search of the suspect’s home uncovered further bags of white powder, scales, snap bags four sim cards and a bundle of bank notes in a sack.
A 33-year-old Liverpool man was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and released under investigation.
Inspector Mark Berry said: “Thanks to the vigilance of officers on proactive patrol in the city centre, we have been able to seize a quantity of suspected Class A drugs and a quantity of cash.
“A Liverpool man has been arrested and our enquiries are ongoing into this incident.
“We urge people to continue coming forward with information and intelligence by either contacting us or anonymously through Crimestoppers so we can act.”
