We are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 9 March.
At around 2.30am, a man aged in his 20s attended McDonald’s, in Clayton Square, with an injury to his chest.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the male was taken to hospital for treatment to a small puncture wound to his chest. He has since been discharged.
Following inquiries, it’s believed that the assault occurred on Fenwick Street, outside Jenny’s Bar, and involved a group of males.
An investigation is ongoing to find all of those involved and we are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Chief Inspector Andy Hughes said: “Thankfully the injured man was discharged from hospital earlier this morning, but clearly this incident could have been much worse and we are taking it extremely seriously.
“We are determined to find the people involved and establish the circumstances leading up to the incident.
“We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward so if you witnessed what happened, please let us know.”
