We are appealing for information following a serious collision in Huyton this afternoon, Wednesday 5 March.
Around 12.20pm, it was reported that a car had been involved in a collision with a male cyclist, who was riding a blue mountain bike, at the junction of Tarbock Road and Manley Road.
The driver failed to stop at the scene and following inquiries an abandoned vehicle, which is believed to have been involved in the incident, was found on Greenfield Drive and a 34-year-old man from Liverpool was subsequently arrested in connection with the collision.
A road closure remains in place at the scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area while officers carry out the early stages of an investigation.
