A man has been arrested after suspected stolen motorbikes were found at a property in Croxteth yesterday evening, Wednesday 12 March.
Officers gained access to a house and recovered two suspected stolen vehicles – a Surron electric motorbike in the kitchen and a yellow Yamaha scrambler in the back garden.
A 18-year-old man from Croxteth was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. He is still in police custody for questioning.
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Chris Taylor said: “This is another positive outcome for our communities who are affected by the use of anti-social and e-bikes and scrambler bikes which are often ridden in a dangerous manner, causing a significant risk to the public and themselves.
"We are continuing to target illegal bike use and theft of motorbikes using police tactics.
“With community support and information provided we will make arrests and seek prosecutions.
“I would advise owners of motorbikes and electric bikes to keep your vehicles securely locked and out of sight, and also be mindful of who is around when you are out riding them.”
Anyone with information about illegal riders can contact Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
