We have seized a large amount of suspected Class A drugs and arrested three men on suspicion of drugs offences in Kirkdale yesterday (Tuesday, March 4 2025).
Officers patrolling in plain clothes spotted the men acting suspiciously. A subsequent search of a nearby property revealed cannabis and a substantial quantity of what is believed to be cocaine and heroin.
Three men aged 24, 34 and 35 from Kirkdale were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and cannabis as well as possession of criminal property and were taken to a police station on Merseyside for questioning. They have subsequently been released pending further investigation.
Chief Inspector Sarah Rotherham, one of the senior officers involved in EVOLVE Everton-Vauxhall, said: "Yesterday’s arrests are part of our ongoing work in this area, which was designated a Clear, Hold, Build project at the start of this year.
“We are currently in the Clear phase and dedicated officers are working hard to tackle serious and organised criminality, clearing the area of those suspected to be involved in gang-related activity and making Everton and Vauxhall safer for generations to come.
“Drugs and the violence that goes hand-in-hand are a blight on society and our officers take drug-related activity extremely seriously.
“We urge anyone with information about drug-related activity or any other criminality, to contact us so we can get help for those suffering from addictions and take those responsible for perpetuating their addictions off our streets.”
Parts of Everton and Vauxhall have recently been designated a Clear, Hold, Build area – a national scheme designed by the Home Office to tackle serious and organised crime and improve areas so they become places people love to live, work and visit.
This is the fourth Clear, Hold, Build project in Merseyside, where they are known as EVOLVE areas, that see police working with partners and residents to disrupt and deter gangs from operating and building brighter futures.
EVOLVE projects intend to take communities blighted by gang-related activity on a journey of regeneration, building long-term resilience against organised crime groups and help prevent future threats to safety.
