Detectives are appealing for witnesses and footage following a suspected hit and run in the Wirral.
At about 11pm on Tuesday 29 April two men were reported to have been driven at by a man in a dark blue car.
The car was reportedly driven at speed around the corner of Palatine Road, Seacombe where it was in collision with one of the men, who is in his 20s.
The man was knocked to the ground before the car was driven at him again.
The driver then made off down a footpath onto Wheatland Lane.
Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries to his torso.
Detective Constable Rosie Frost said: “This was an unprovoked attack which has left the victim with serious injuries.
“We are in the early stages of our investigation to establish exactly what has taken place.
“Our enquiries are ongoing as we are determined to find the driver of the car after they fled the scene. We are in the process of exploring CCTV opportunities and carrying out witness and house-to-house enquiries.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information to help our ongoing investigation.
“If you live in the area and have CCTV cameras or were driving past and have dashcam footage that captured anything that could help our enquiries, please let us know.”
