Detectives investigating an injury shooting in Kirkby on Monday (25 November) have arrested a second man.
Officers were contacted just before 6.45pm to reports that a 31-year-old man and 35-year-old man had both received gunshot wounds in the Market Tavern, Newtown Gardens.
Following a warrant last night, a 36-year-old man from Kirkby was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
He has been taken to a police station for questioning.
A 37-year-old man from St Helens arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm on Tuesday has been released on conditional bail.
