Detectives working on Operation Castle, our ongoing response to burglary across Merseyside, have charged a man following an incident at the weekend in Southport.
At around 9.30pm on Sunday 8 September, a report was received of a man gaining entry to a premises on Fleetwood Road. The man ran off as police arrived but was detained and suspected stolen items found. He was also found in possession of a pair of scissors.
39-year-old David Bigley from Hesketh Bank in Lancashire has now been charged with burglary dwelling and possession of a bladed article in a public place. Bigley has been remanded into custody to appear on Tuesday 8 October at Liverpool Crown Court.
