A man has been issued with a two-year ban for shoplifting offences which took place in Kirkby.
David Anthony Wilson, 34 years, of Cawthorne Avenue, Southdene, Kirkby, was issued the Criminal Behaviour Order at Liverpool Magistrates Court last week for committing a number shoplifting offences in Kirkby.
Under the order he is banned from entering two areas in Kirby. They are Kirkby Town Centre, bounded by and including Webster Drive, from the junction with St. Chad's Drive to Cherryfield Drive, Hall Lane, County Road and Irlam Drive.
The second area is Copple House Lane, Moor Lane, Hawksmoor Road including Aldi Shopping Complex, Alscot Avenue including Tesco Express on Glovers Brow in Kirkby.
Community Policing Inspector Andrew Robinson said: “The Criminal Behaviour Order has been put in place to prevent Wilson from committing any further shoplifting offences in the area.
“Thefts from businesses is not a victimless crime as the cost incurred is passed on to the consumer.
“This order will provide welcome relief to local businesses and should he breach this order he will be arrested and possibly imprisoned.”
